a foodie’s paradise

I visited Jungle Jim’s International Market for the first time with my family when they were in town last Friday. I was simply speechless, the place was like a petting zoo for foodies. I wish I had visited sooner! They have one of the US’s largest wine selections at 12,000 different labels; additionally 1,200 beer labels and over 1,000 kinds of cheese! Not to mention “The Big Cheese” as pictured below, weighing in at 794lbs:

The selection was phenomenal and also included food from over 70 countries around the world. In the asian section I spotted some red bean mochi as well as giant tubs of red bean ice cream of which I picked up two each:

For those of you that have not had red bean flavored things before, it may seem like an odd thing to eat as a sweet, however its quite palatable. Not overly sweet, red bean is a unique complex flavor that isn’t overpowering and generally hard to describe; trust me -it’s good. I’m sure I’ll be back soon.
