northwestern wasn’t the only one who beat iowa

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to visit a good friend of mine in Columbus. I had never been to OSU before, or the city for that matter so I jumped at the chance for another adventure. It was a temperate fall weekend; the clear sky and turning leaves accentuated beauty of the main quad:

Of course, I had chosen the weekend because of the home game versus Iowa, which the Buckeyes would end up winning. Until this game, I had never been to a “Real” college football game. I mean, NU games were fine but they didn’t draw nearly the same number of crowds and media that OSU games do. There were about 100,000 people present:

After the overtime win, the fans fished the field creating a sea of red… if there wasn’t already one:

Also on my visit I had a chance to visit the Short North area of Columbus which seemed to cater more towards the mid-20s crowd than any area of Cincinnati I have yet visited. If someone knows where this is in Cincinnati — do tell! It was a long street lined with restaurants, bars, wine shops, which all seemed to stay open late unlike anything in Cincinnati. Granted I haven’t seen it all yet so I can’t judge with finality but I had a blast and hope to return sometime even if there isn’t a football game.
